Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Yaseen Allah got started in music as a New York volunteer teacher assistant. Knowing children love music, Allah decided to invite music professionals into the classroom to motivate students. Throughout his – years as a teaching assistant, Allah inspired many students, while creating an extensive list of music industry VIP.
Gregarious and diplomatic, Allah developed and maintained solid relationships with contacts at Sony, Universal, Motown and Bad Boy, among others. In 1993, he began his artist management career, managing New York-based reggae sound systems, a job that took him as far as Jamaica. Yet the time was not right for Allah’s music ideas.
In 1996, Allah and Cherrie Blackman, co-founded Supreme Management, an entertainment company focusing on artist management. Soon after, in 1997, Allah signed his first group, Canadian rappers the God Bodies. Impressed with Allah’s management style and long list of U.S. contacts, the group promptly persuaded him to manage them.
Today, Allah, President and CEO of Supreme Management, manages some of the most talented Canadian artists and American acts. In April 2001, Supreme Management was incorporated in New York City. Plans for a Canadian office are currently in the works.
