Weekend Money Reveals Ambitious Cover Art for Debut EP Naked City
Set For Release September 11th
Weekend Money has revealed the cover art for their much-anticipated debut EP, Naked City. The cover reflects lyricist Ne$$’s and producer Baghdaddy’s multicultural blend of sounds and influences heard throughout their two-fisted release – set to drop September 11th. Naked City’s boundless photography, which features Weekend Money in all their brazen glory, was shot by Josh Kehn under the creative direction of Joelle Leung.
“The idea behind the cover art was to show a raw, candid snapshot of NYC as opposed to the typical cliché Empire State building or Statue of Liberty in the background shot,” said Leung.
Indeed, the Naked City cover was shot on location on Nostrand Avenue and Fulton Street in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. It’s ‘hood; it’s avant-garde; and it’s a cool middle-finger to lazy musical and cultural stereotypes.
Weekend Money’s genre blurring mix of rap and electronic production has made them an act to watch in NYC’s up-and-coming hip hop scene. Ne$$ and Baghdaddy have already released a number of well-received singles from the album including “Insomniac,” “Coke’N’Coffee,” and “Yellow,” which have received glowing reviews from XXL, Okayplayer, DJBooth, and 2dopeboyz. This is Weekend Money.
Naked City tracklist:
1. The World
2. Naked City
